Photography for FourTwoFour on Fairfax x ARMES AW’18
The FourTwoFour on Fairfax x ARMES AW’18 project brought together fashion, art, and spatial design through a shared spirit of collaboration. The boutique space was conceived as a place to feature cutting-edge ideas without limitations, allowing creativity to move freely across disciplines.
The environment itself was a central part of the story. Designed to evoke a turn-of-the-century salon while nodding to the future, the space felt equally influenced by Paris and New York—reimagined within the context of Los Angeles’ premier streetwear district.
Capturing a Collaborative Boutique Space
Photography for FourTwoFour on Fairfax focused on documenting the atmosphere of the shop and the intent behind the collaboration. Rather than staging or over-directing, the imagery was designed to feel observational, allowing the space and garments to speak for themselves.
Composition, light, and pacing were approached with restraint, emphasizing texture, detail, and spatial relationships. This allowed the photography to communicate both the physical environment and the cultural tone of the project.
Fashion, Space, and Cultural Context
The collaboration reflected FourTwoFour on Fairfax’s broader mission: creating a platform where fashion, lifestyle, and art intersect. The photography captures this intersection by highlighting how the boutique environment functioned as more than a retail space—it became a cultural setting.
The result is a visual record that feels grounded in the moment while remaining timeless, documenting a specific season without anchoring it to fleeting trends.
Shot in Los Angeles
All photography for the FourTwoFour on Fairfax x ARMES AW’18 project was shot in Los Angeles, grounding the work in the city’s creative and streetwear landscape. The location plays a subtle but important role in shaping the mood and identity of the images.
A Visual Study in Collaboration
The photography created for this project serves as a visual study of collaboration—between brands, disciplines, and environments. It reflects a moment where fashion, art, and space came together with intention and openness.
